Description: on bhall\=ataka, Semecarpus anacardium Linn.f.; purification (\'sodhana) method: in the first stage the thalamus part of the seeds was removed and soaked in cow's urine in an earthen pot for seven days; the urine was changed every day and the content was stirred with a ladle; after this period, the liquid was decanted and the seeds were dried in the shade; in the second stage, the dried seeds were soaked in fresh cow's milk for seven days; the milk was changed daily and the content was stirred; the processed seeds were taken out, dried in the shade and put in a bag containing coarse brick powder and they were rubbed thoroughly to remove the tarry oil; the purified seeds were then washed in water and dried in the shade; the seeds were used after powdering them; before purification the seeds were brownish-black in colour and very hard in sonsistency; after purification in cow's urine the seeds became brown in colour; they turned black after the treatment with cow's milk; rubbing them with brick powder removed 30--40\% of the corrosive oil deposited
